Message from Scripture: 4/3/2021

Today’s message from Scripture comes from Psa. 119:105. “Your word is a lamp for my feet and a light on my path.”

According to recent studies by Pew Research, 90% of Americans believe in some type of higher power. However, only 56% believe of God as He is described in the Bible, while 33% believe in another type of deity or spiritual force. What these numbers reveal to us is the faith of previous generations in God and the Bible is waning, which also explains the rise in the promotion of error in not only people’s belief systems, but the promotion of immoral and wicked lifestyles that in turn follow.

As the first quarter of 2021 has ended, how many are spending any real time in the study of God’s word? The psalmist knew its value, of what the word of God can do if we internalize its message and allow it to influence us in our choices of life. As readily available as it is, despite the fact it is the all time best seller of books, it all too often sits unopened, with its rich treasures so readily available going unused and our lives suffering for it.

As long as there is a today, there is an opportunity to let Scripture make a real difference in our lives. It is God breathed, and gives us His wisdom in facing life filled with sin. Scripture screams to us it is from God to us, to help us have a better life today, and eternal life tomorrow. Our assurance of its validity is the death and resurrection of Christ. Satan wants to deter us from finding help and strength and salvation in it, but ultimately it’s our choice whether he’s successful or not. Many died that we might have it readily available to us today. It can and will make an eternal difference in us if we only make use of it, take it inside us, and allow it to transform our lives.
