Message from Scripture: 10/02/2020
Our message from Scripture today is Heb. 13:8. “Jesus Christ is the
same yesterday and today and forever.”
We live in a changing world, a world
characterized by change perhaps now more than any other time. Almost every aspect
of our lives is filled with change. There is so much uncertainty associated
with life, is there anything we can trust and depend on, something that will
endure, that will remain constant and sure? Of course, that something isn’t
something at all, but someone. Our Lord is trustworthy and reliable when no one
else is. How far can we trust and rely on our God and the Lord Jesus Christ?
As the Hebrew writer tells us, we know He was
trustworthy yesterday. Our Lord has been constant in times past, which
gives us assurance, in trusting Him to be constant in His dealings with us now.
“I will remember the deeds of the Lord;
yes, I will remember your wonders of old. I will ponder all your work, and
meditate on your mighty deeds” (Psa. 77:11-12). God has always been
faithful in His promises for His people.
We know He is trustworthy today. God loves
us, cares for us, and offers His promises to us today. We can rely on His help
and strength for the present. As Jesus told His disciples, “And remember, I
am with you always, to the end of the age” (Matt. 28:20). He is concerned
and ready to help us in whatever we face today.
We know He will be trustworthy forever. We
don’t know what the future holds, but we know in Christ we can face whatever
comes our way with confidence and hope. “But you are the same, and
your years will have no end” (Heb. 1:12). The faithful will always be with
the Lord.
“’I am the Alpha and the Omega,’ says the
Lord God, ‘who is and who was and who is to come, the Almighty’” (Rev.
1:7). Put your trust in Him, and find the strength for living He can amply
provide. Have a great day in Him today. God bless.
Robert
