Message from Scripture: 5/1/2021

 

Our message from Scripture today is Matt. 19:14, “Let the little children come to me and do not hinder them, for to such belongs the kingdom of heaven.”

 

There are qualities of children that we can imitate spiritually, that help us better reflect the image of the Father in our lives. One thing true of little children is they have a pure heart.  The corrupting influences of the world haven’t settled in on them, and there is an innocence they possess we should long to have back in our lives. 

 

Another quality of little children is their trust.  They are drawn to others, and will believe what they are told.  At a young age they want to imitate their parents because of the respect they have.

 

Little children also show love freely and without qualification.  There is nothing more precious than little arms around your neck, squeezing as tight as they can, and hearing the words in your ears, “I love you.” 

 

May we never become so old in spirit we shun knowing and interacting with those younger than ourselves.  While we can offer them advice and direction in life, we can learn much from them as well.  It takes the fellowship of all of us in the body of Christ to help us reach the goal of eternity.  Every one of us is precious in the sight of God.  We should consider each other as such to ourselves as well.  “Beloved, let us love one another, for love is from God, and whoever loves has been born of God and knows God” (1 John 4:7). Today, let us live and learn from youth to those older in life, so we may go out and acceptably serve our Lord and Master Jesus Christ. Have a great day. God bless.
